The Shumway Custom Face Lift rejuvenates the lower third of the face including the jowls and neck. This procedure is also referred to as a mini-lift and much like the Lifestyle Lift ™ that has recently become popular. 

Doctor Shumway begins the procedure with an incision in the area of the temple hair (hidden in the hair), continues in front of the ear in a natural crease, and then continues around the ear lobe, circling the ear before ending in the hair behind the ear.  The incision in front of the ear is placed in the natural skin creases so that it is well camouflaged after you heal. For men the incision is aligned to accommodate the natural beard-line.   

In a Shumway Custom Lift the deep layer of muscle underneath the skin is tightened, not dissected, helping to support the skin after surgery, while minimizing post-operative bruising and swelling. To achieve a more dramatic result, this procedure can be combined with other surgical procedures, such as an eyelid/brow lift, liposculpture, or cheek/chin implants.
